Warsaw of Singer
Performer from Warsaw… that is 8th Jewish Culture Festival 'Warsaw of Singer' starts next Saturday with the project 'La Playa: Warsaw – Tel Aviv'. So far the organizers have focused on prewar Jewish culture and appearance of the old Warsaw, now they want to combine tradition with modernity, and pay more attention to modern Israel. Hence, for the first time the festival leaves the neighborhood of Grzybowski Square and Próżna Street (where, nota bene, the heart of the festival will still beat), in order to reconstruct everyday atmosphere of Tel Aviv in La Playa Club. This will be accompanied by the exhibition of the pictures of the city and rhythms of Israeli music.
Apart from La Playa Club, new festival places include other Praga's clubs – their unquestionable asset is their location, because Praga, which survived the ravages of war, conveys the atmosphere of the old Warsaw.

Let's go back to the heart of the festival – it is not possible to mention all items from the rich festival program: movie shows, lectures, workshops, walks to Jewish places (including musical walk with Klezmer group OPA! from Russia), concerts. Some of them require tickets or earlier booking, but clou of the festival – Klezmer opera 'The Night in the Old Marketplace' set in the tradition of Jewish folklore and legends – is admission free. This performance will be staged on Friday in Grzybowski Square.
Nine wonderful days with Jewish culture, which once constituted significant part of the flavor of Poland – a melting point of nations and cultures.
