Established in 1956, the International Festival of Contemporary Music “Warsaw Autumn” demonstrates impressive continuity and achievements.
Above all, it is recognised all over the world as the witness of the artistic debut of the Polish avant-garde musicians of the 1950s and 1960s, including Krzysztof Penderecki and Henryk Mikołaj Górecki. In the recent years, “Warsaw Autumn” has tended to focus on the latest repertoire (composed at the turn of the 21st century). It has also started to present more of chamber music and computer-aided compositions.
