Stanisław Fijałkowski (born 1922) - painter, graphic artist, professor at the Łódź College of the Fine Arts. His works are marked by a variety of techniques. He paints 'unreal' pictures, such as 'Routes', the serial 'Highway', 'Talmudic studies', which are full of meaning and symbols. He was awarded with many orders, e.g. Commander's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta (2002), and Gold Medal "Gloria Artis" (2005). On his 80th birth anniversary in 2003 the National Museums in Poznań and Wrocław with the National Art Gallery "Zachęta" organized a retrospective exhibition of his works.
