Ski-jumper Malysz wins competition in Zakopane

Adam Malysz secured his 39th world championship career victory in the Polish resort of Zakopane, Friday.
Fans of perhaps Poland’s most prolific ski-jumper had to wait almost four years to see Malysz take the top spot on the podium, following his last victory on 25 March 2007 in the Slovenian town of Planica.
In the first round, Adam Malysz took the lead with a jump of 138.5 metres, although jumped 10 metres less in the second round. He managed to trump his rivals on points, however, with a 5.4-point lead over second-placed Austrian Andreas Kofler. ...read more.
