Schuman’s Parade (May)

12th Schuman’s Parade 2011

Every year, at the beginning of May the Shuman’s Parade sets off at the Warsaw's Castle Square and Krakowskie Przedmieście and Nowy Świat Street change into a place of European integration and education.

The Schuman Parade is a holiday held to celebrate “Europe’s birthday”.

It is organized by the Polish Foundation of Robert Schuman and it:

  • promotes integration of the European Union,
  • introduces related matters
  • and above all presents the things that are common for countries and people being members of the Union in an attractive form.

The Foundation of Robert Schuman who is considered to be a father of contemporary Europe, is a non-governmental and non-political organisation. It is intended to encourage citizens to get involved in the process of unification of Europe.

It develops programs that teach how to take opportunities given by the membership in the EU, cooperate with many environments in the Union and outside the Union, to obtain better knowledge of common democratic values and respect them.

Every year the Schuman’s Parade enjoys considerable popularity among the citizens of Warsaw and the entire Poland as well as guests from abroad, not only from the EU Member States. It is a great opportunity to learn more about EU related subjects and a great offer of May relaxation for everyone.
