For 750 years, on Saint Dominic Day Gdańsk’s Main Town sees the biggest street trading and entertainment event in Poland, one of the biggest events of this type in Europe.
Just like in the Middle Ages, street trading is accompanied by great entertainment. For 23 August days, the Market Square and its neighbourhood host interesting events and attractions: festivals of brass bands, street theatres, dancing shows, fireworks displays. There is a great atmosphere of street trading and fun.
Approximately 1000 merchants, artists and collectors, whose stalls take up several streets in the Old Town, participate in the Fair. Every day the Fair is visited by approximately 150 thousand people.
