Jakub Gierszał is a 23-year-old actor awarded highly prestigious European prize for the actors of the younger generation called Shooting Stars 2012. Gierszał is known for such films as "Suicide Room" (“Sala samobójców”) by Jan Komasa and "All That I Love" (“Wszystko co kocham”) by Jacek Borcuch.
During last weekend the ten winners of Shooting Stars from across Europe had met in Berlin (which coincided with the Berlinale Film Festival), where they have the opportunity to present themselves to directors, producers and film industry representatives as well as to reporters from around the world.
The international Shooting Stars’ jury awarded Gierszał saying that: “From the moment you see him, it is clear that Gierszal was born to be on the big screen. Revealing a kaleidoscope of emotions, his ability to draw you into a story is unparalleled. He is touching, believable, sensitive - a pure and unique talent.”
He is the third Polish laureate of Shooting Star award after Agnieszka Grochowska (2007) and Agata Buzek (2010).
