Justyna Kowalczyk

For the first time in history World Cup ski races will be held in Poland for the next two days. Polish best ski runner Justyna Kowalczyk will participate in the race as well.

World leaders of cross country ski races will take part in the competitions held in Szklarska Poreba at Jakuszycka Glade. The biggest rival of Justyna Kowalczyk – the Norwegian Marit Bjørgen who currently leads the World Cup will also run in Poland. Kowalczyk, who is second in the overall World Cup classification, will try to make up 12 points of loss and gain an advantage over Marit.

- I was waiting for the competition organized in the country for many years. I am delighted that I will have a chance to show myself to Polish audience – said Justyna Kowalczyk before the start of the season, enjoying the fact that such prestigious competition will be organized for the first time in Poland.

Today at Jakuszycka Glade runners will compete in the freestyle sprint. On Saturday, February 18, the classical style 10km individually run is planned. Worth highlighting is that this is Kowalczyk’s favourite style.
