Polish productions at Trieste Film Festival

This year 23rd edition of International Film Festival in Trieste will be significantly devoted to Polish films.

23. Trieste Film Festival (19-25 January) will focus mainly on the cinematography of Central and Eastern Europe. Overview will include feature films, documents, short films and animations. Therefore, during the Festival there will be an opportunity to see the Polish productions such as "The Mole" (“Kret”) by Rafael Lewandowski (nominated in the category of full-length feature film) but also three Polish animation: "The good, the beauty and the truth" („Dobro, piękno i prawda”) by Balbina Bruszewska, "Dr. Character presents" („Dr Charakter przedstawia”) by Piotr Dumała and "The lost town of Switez" („Świteź”) by Kamil Polak. Polish short film in Trieste is a "The Barbican" („Barbakan”) by Bartłomiej Żmuda. Then, "Phnom Penh Lullaby" („Kołysanka z Phnom Penh”) by Pawel Kloc, and "We will be happy one day" („Kiedyś będziemy szczęśliwi”) by Paweł Wysoczyński are images nominated for the award in the category of documentary films.

Beside the above-mentioned films, much of the festival will be devoted to works of Grzegorz Królikiewicz. Sixteen of his films will be screened including "Lord Jim Case," "Fidelity," "Killing aunts".

Treiste Fesival will commemorate the 10th anniversary of Polish Wajda Film School, showing "Shivers" („Dreszcze”) by Wojciech Marczewski (co-founder of the school), "To the north of Calabria" („Na północ od Kalabrii”) by Marcin Sauter, "Baptism" („Chrzest”) by Marcin Wrona, "Paparazzi" by Piotr Bernaś, "Glasgow" by Piotr Subbotko and "Aria diva" by Agnieszka Smoczyńska.

The Film Festival will be concluded by Václav Havel’s film debut titled "Leaving."
