January 20, 2012 the premiere of Roman Polański’s comedy titled “Carnage” will take place in Poland.
This film is a screen adaptation of Yasmina Reza's theatre play "God of carnage." Polanski was inspired by the play since winter 2008 , when he saw the performance at the Theatre Antoine in Paris. For the director (who is also the screenwriter of the film), the theme of the play seemed very intriguing. Polanski described it as a current critique of contemporary society, which particularly clearly underlines the hypocrisy in the issue of "political correctness".
Apart from the unusual script and concept for the film, Polanski has invited to cooperation prominent actors and filmmakers. The main roles are played by Jodie Foster, Kate Winslet, John C. Reilly and Christopher Waltz. Director of photography for "Carnage" is Paweł Edelman.
"Carnage" is the first comedy by Roman Polanski for many years. The film premiered at the Venice Film Festival, where it was well-received both by audience, critics and film reviewers.
