Beginning of July, Olsztyn
Under a beautiful old linden tree in the courtyard of Olsztyn Castle, poetry concerts have been organized already for 35 years. For four July days under the starry sky you can hear verses of such poets like: Konstanty Idefons Gałczyński, Jonasz Kofta, Agnieszka Osiecka, but also those who are making first attempts to master their poetic craft. Among the competition winners are many well-known and popular artists: Elżbieta Adamiak, Staszek Sojka, Hanna Banaszak, Magdalena Cielecka, Janusz Radek.
The fairy tale scenery of the mid-14th century castle, in which lived Nicolaus Copernicus, creates a poetic atmosphere that during hot nights infects the performers, judges, and most of all, the audience. The festival of poetry and music provokes reverie and reflection. It shows how necessary these are in everyday, hasty and busy life.
