February 1, 2012 Polish well-known pianist and composer Leszek Możdżer will pay homage to the legendary Polish jazz pianist Krzysztof Komeda (1931-1969).

An icon of Polish music, talented pianist and composer Krzysztof (Christopher) Komeda has meaningfully contributed to the development and advancement of Polish jazz in 1960s. In the United States he wrote movie scores inter alia for Roman Polanski’s “Rosemary’s Baby” and for Buzz Kulik’s “The Riot.”

Leszek Możdżer distinguishes on the music scene by his unusual impressionistic, classically trained sensibility while playing the piano. Możdżer’s 2011 album titled “Komeda” is a special tribute to the Polish authority on jazz music. Yet, Możdżer creates his own style of each track by fulfilling gaps between classical music and jazz, and that gives unique and exceptional musical result.
