Leon Tarasewicz

Leon Tarasewicz (born 1957) - painter, professor of the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts. He has had several dozen exhibitions around the world. He represented Poland at the Venice Art Biennial in 2001. His paintings are exhibited in museum collections in the USA, Scandinavia, Greece and Korea. The artist lives in eastern Poland, in the village of Waliły, from where the elements of nature that appear in his works come. His work is marked by simplicity in colour and composition. Leon Tarasiewicz was awarded with numerous awards and titles, for example, in 2011 he received the Cavalier's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta, "Paszport Polityki" in 2000, Jan Cybis Prize in 2000.
