The end of June and the beginning of July, Cracow
The Cracow Jewish Culture Festival is one of the largest events of this kind in the world. In Cracow’s Kazimierz, the best preserved Jewish district in the Central and Eastern Europe, takes place a presentation of the Jewish culture and tradition. As a part of the Festival, at the end of June and the beginning of July, more than one hundred events take place, in which the most important element is the music: synagogal, klezmer, Hasidic, folk and jazz. You can see films, exhibitions, performances, participate in lectures or workshops, e.g. Jewish cut-outs, Hebrew calligraphy, cuisine. The Festival is crowned with the Final Concert at Szeroka street with an audience of more than 10 thousand.
This Cracow Festival is intended to restore the memory about a common, centuries-old history of Polish and Jewish communities.
