Between 22-25 February 2012 in Torun (central-north Poland), in the “Od Nowa” Student Club, the international music event called “Jazz Od Nova Festival” will take place.

The festival is held annually since 2001. Organizers from the beginning wanted this event to connect classical jazz with its experimental and improvised form. Moreover, the organizers wanted also to renew the tradition of playing jazz in students’ clubs.

In previous editions of the Jazz Od Nova Festival numerous famous jazz musicians took part in the event: Michal Urbaniak, Tomasz Stanko, Adam Makowicz, John Ptaszyn Wroblewski, Leszek Mozdzer, Zbigniew Namysłowski, Janusz Muniak, Wojciech Karolak, Peter Wojtasik, Jarek Smietana, Vladimir Nahorny, Hiram Bullock, Victor Lewis, David Friesen, Giovanni Mirabassi and Peter Brötzmann.

The 2012 Jazz Od Nova Festival will host, among others, such great musicians as: Henryk Miskiewicz, Michael Patches, Mikolaj Trzaska, Piotr Wojtasik and Tomasz Stanko.

This year Festival edition will be accompanied by the exhibition of photographs titled "Jazz Impressions". Additionally, special competition called "Jazz Press Photo" will be organized  on Facebook in order to award the authors of the best photos taken during the jazz concerts of "Od Nowa" students’ club in the last five decades.
