"In Darkness" nominated for Oscar!

Agnieszka Holland's film "In Darkness" is on the list of films nominated for 2012 Oscars for Best Foreign Language Film!
The film was already already awarded at Polish Plus Camerimage 2011 Festival in the "Best Picture" category.
"In darkness" is a Polish, German and Canadian co-production which presents the fate of the Pole, Leopold Socha (authentic character), the petty thief who during World War II becomes a hero. He decides to hide in the sewers a group of Jews from Lvov ghetto. Risking his life and his loved ones, Socha saves from destruction 21 people who spend in hiding under the ground almost 14 months.
Yesterday, 23 January, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs organized in Warsaw a special screening of "In Darkness" for 150 members of the Diplomatic Corps. Before projection the film director Agnieszka Holland spoke about the idea of her film, about work behind the scenes and international cooperation while directing.
