Every year, a huge spectacle takes place here – re-enactment of the most famous medieval battle (15 July 1410), in which the armies of the Teutonic Order commanded by the Grand Master Ulrich von Jungingen fought with the armies of Poland and Lithuania led by king Jogaila (Władysław Jagiełło). The Teutonic Order was defeated, and this incredible victory has filled the minds and hearts of Poles for centuries.
Every year, members from knight guilds from the entire Europe take part in the spectacular re-enactment. The dramatic struggle of around 1.5 thousand knights is usually watched by more than 100 thousand spectators.
Moreover, the tourists may visit the camps of the knights, and participate in knight contests and games.
