February 17-19, 2012 in Szklarska Poręba (south-west Poland) on Jakuszyce Glade the race of the best ski runners will take place.

The first take-offs are scheduled for routes of Jakuszyce Glade. On Friday, February 17, the sprints of ladies and gentlemen will be held, and on Saturday men’s run of 15 km and women’s 10 km run will take place.

On Sunday, the competitors will have an opportunity to start in a new race formula. Sunday’s Uphill Trophy is a race which takes place on tracks of Szrenica. Firstly, the competitors are running into the hill (uphill) and then they go downhill.

Szklarska Poreba is Polish and Central Europe largest cross-country ski resort, offering nearly 150 km of slopes.

The decision of the FIS was undoubtedly influenced by the fact that in Szklarska Poręba the largest and the oldest mass ski race is taking place – the so-called Piast Race. For several years this competition is among the most important of Worldloppet Ski Federation, which makes Piast Race one of the world’s most important long distance, mass cross-country skiing.
