“1920. The World's Most Important Battle” appreciated for sound

Polish film “1920. Bitwa warszawska” (“1920. The World's Most Important Battle”) directed by Jerzy Hoffman was nominated for Golden Reel Award, which will be granted for the 59. time.

Golden Reel Awards are granted since 1953 by the American Motion Picture Sound Editors. This year nominations are covering 7 categories within Feature Films, 9 categories within Television nominees and 6 various categories among “other films” sections.

Hoffman’s film is nominated in the "Best Sound Editing: Sound Effects, Foley, dialogue and ADR in Feature Foreign Language Film" category. Other nominees in this group are: “The Skin I Live In” by Pedro Almodóvar, “Tropa de Elite 2 (Elite Squad 2: The Enemy Within)” by José Padilha, In the Land of Blood and Honey" by Angelina Jolie, “Sarah's Key” by Gilles Paquet-Brenner.

Waclaw Palikowski was responsible for sound in the “1920. The World's Most Important Battle.” Sounds’ special effects were made by Maciej Tęgi. Sound postproduction was made by Polish Dreamsound Studio. Sound montage was realised by Maciej Tęgi and Kacper Habisiak.

Golden Reel Awards 2012 will take place February, 19, in Los Angeles.
